Continuing the schedule alternation that began last year, the Super Bowl will be on the second Sunday in February. That means the game will take place on Sunday, February 12, with kick-off slated to begin at 6:30 pm ET.
The 57th Super Bowl will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The location is no stranger to big games: The stadium opened in 2006 and hosted Super Bowl XLII in 2008, back when it was known as University of Phoenix Stadium. The venue has a maximum capacity of 78,000 people, including standing room, and tickets have been sold out for months.
Before the construction of State Farm Stadium, another Arizona field hosted the Super Bowl: Sun Devil Stadium, located in Tempe, Arizona, hosted Super Bowl XXX in 1996.
When not hosting the Super Bowl, State Farm Stadium also hosts the Fiesta Bowl, a major bowl game for college football, and has been the home of other major sporting events and concerts.
The Super Bowl, of course, is one of the biggest television events of the year. According to a survey conducted by the National Retail Federation:
- Nearly 193 million Americans are expected to watch the game. That number is more than half of the American population.
- 103.5 million people will attend or throw a party.
- Nearly 8 million people will watch the game at a bar or restaurant.

Performing at the Apple Music Half Time Show will be Rihanna, who released a trailer for the show. As always, guest and surprise stars are expected to perform with Rihanna, and while little is known about the content of her performance, it will almost certainly be a spectacular event.

Super Bowl commercials have become legendary marketing efforts, with only the best, most successful, or most ambitious organizations able to afford such a marketing push. Super Bowl costs will likely break $7 million this year for one ad. Some ads have already been released, including:
- Workday will be releasing an ad that features Ozzy Osbourne as a new co-worker.
- Dave Grohl promoting Crown Royal whisky.
- Budweiser – a company practically synonymous with Super Bowl ads – has a new commercial featuring Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.
